a proper introduction
Hi there, design enthusiasts! I'm Lauren Lowry, your go-to short-term rental interior designer, transforming properties into unforgettable experiences. With a passion for creating spaces people never want to leave, I curate spaces that leave lasting impressions on your guests.
I am also an avid DIYer in the sense of give me something to be solved or fixed and I will FIGURE IT OUT!
I also prefer vintage and unique over new name brand items. I need a bumper sticker on my car that says “CAUTION I brake for all for sale by owner real estate signs, garage sales, estate sales, thrift stores and abandoned furniture on the side of the road!” Pretty much if it is old and looks unloved you better believe I’m braking for it!
When I’m not digging through a vintage shop you will catch me pastoring a church my husband and I started alongside some of our closest friends nearly nine years ago, playing with my three kids or dancing in front of a mirror.
In 2021, after my husband and I purchased our first short-term rental I decided to pivot in my design business, focusing on supporting short-term rental owners and investors with my design expertise.
I believe this decision was a “God thing!” In 2021, I was coming out of pandemic/new baby/remodel & sell a home/build & move into a new home fog. Between 2019-2021 my life felt like a whirlwind (I bet many of you can relate) but this gave me the opportunity and time to really sort through what was in my heart to do. At the end of 2020 I knew I wanted to dive head first back into my design business. Before I even released to the public I was now going to be focusing my design efforts on short-term rentals I was contacted by an investor at the end of 2020 with the opportunity to elevate the design in a property he had purchased in Austin, TX. It seemed as if the doors of destiny were opening right before my eyes and all I had to do was to share my new dream with God and my husband. And ever since that day the doors continue to open before me!
In this new transition I realized what truly makes me come alive! It is to create spaces that people never want to leave. At the core of my being I believe I was created to move people and places from potential to beautifully alive. I believe people are shaped and transformed by the environment around them and it is an honor and joy to create spaces that are shaping and influencing lives.
Much of my design work is influenced by my belief in God and how I believe he relates to us. I believe in the beginning God created the Earth and all that is in it and I also believe he still creates through his creation today. And I am one that he creates through! So, I begin all of my projects with a prayer that sounds something like “God, come inspire me. Bring your creativity and create through me.” I am always amazed at what ends up coming through my hands for the world around me. My design work is an act of worship to Him.
So, if you’ve been following me for a while or are new here I want to invite you to journey alongside me as I discover and uncover what I was created for and hopefully I will inspire you to do the same.
