About Lauren
Described as a Renaissance woman, Lauren is a mother to three small children, wife, aspiring real estate mogul, and founder of Lauren Lowry Interior Design.
She grew up in Central Texas where she spent her weekends and vacation time running through acres of wooded trees and splashing in natural waterways. Her mom, a true artist and creative, taught Lauren to find beauty in all things.
Growing up in a family with modest means Lauren learned how to be resourceful and creative with what she had, framing life through a lens of possibility. This is how she honed her “Midas touch.”
In 2009, Lauren and her husband had a BIG vision when they bought a nearly 100-year-old fixer-upper resting on the edge of the Texas Hill Country.
The property had been a rental for 50 years and needed A LOT of love. The first night in the house she and her husband wrestled with buyer's remorse as they tried to drown out the creaks and strange sounds that rang through the house while they slept. The foundation needed a complete overhaul, the bathroom floors were rotting through, and all of the electrical needed updating.
This was more than just a facelift!
With more time than money, Lauren and her husband set to work repairing and restoring every inch of the house. She learned what it was like to have a vision and run hard after it. She learned what it was like to live among dirt and sawdust. After spending ten years (originally a 3-5 year project) pouring blood, sweat, and tears into their 1,600 square foot, unloved, 50-year-old rental they saw it become the cutest little thing on the block.
The greatest reward was when they listed the house and sold it for over 3x what they paid for it!
This journey is what ignited her passion for design and real estate investing.
In 2015, she decided to turn her talent into a business, launching Lauren Lowry Interior Design.
Lauren knew she had the Midas touch - the ability to take any place with potential and cause it to become beautifully alive. When Lauren walks into any space her imagination automatically begins flowing and she can’t help but see how she could transform the space into something amazing.
Through her experience of working with an array of clients ranging from the nation's largest homebuilder to private homeowner builds and remodels to designing professional offices Lauren has gained a wealth of knowledge in the designing process.
She regularly receives feedback from her clients, saying “we could have never done this without you.” And “we’re so glad to be working with you. You designed our space perfectly.”
In 2021, after nearly two years of maternity break, she jumped back into designing by taking on her own large project, a vacation rental investment property in Central Texas.
After completing and launching this project, Lauren discovered these are the kinds of projects she LOVES!
Her passion is to create short-term rentals with soul that can host people’s hearts and lives while bringing greater financial freedom to the investors that own the properties.
To Lauren styling, vacation rentals is not just about beautiful and inspiring aesthetics but it is about creating comfortable spaces where people can let down their walls and be their authentic selves. Where they can make memories and share their hearts with those they love.
Lauren works with property owners and investors to transform their spaces into viable, thriving businesses.
Lauren’s style can be described as “Texas roots meets French heritage.” With her style, you will experience the grit of Texas and the grace and elegance of France. Guests who choose to book their vacation in a short-term rental instead of a hotel often make their decision on where to stay based on the aesthetic and decor they see in the pictures online.
The design of your property and high-quality photos is what will cause guests to choose your property over the one down the road.
Lauren believes design must not only be beautiful and inspiring but must also allow spaces to be lived in. She understands when guests book a property they want the freedom to feel at home with their friends and family.
Therefore, she curates her designs in a way that allows people to not only be inspired by the aesthetics but also the ability to live on the property during their stay. Often Lauren’s properties receive their first booking within a week of launching.
